The Department of Agricultural Economics was established in 1983 as one of the oldest departments of Namık Kemal University Faculty of Agriculture.
Our department opened the Master's Program in 1986, the Undergraduate Program in 1993, and the Doctorate Program in 1995.
Our department, which started its activities with 1 associate professor in the year it was founded, serves with a total of 12 faculty members as of 2023. The Department of Agricultural Economics, which consists of the Departments of Agricultural Management and Agricultural Policy and Extension, has graduated 447 undergraduate, 126 graduate, and 41 doctorate students as of January 2021.
